Aunque se trate de àreas geogràficamente distante, las relaciones culturales du¬rante la Edad Moderna entre Andalucía y Sicilia han documentado diversos episodios ba¬stante significativos. Ambas regiones comparten una mismo destino histiogràfico, una larga tradición de lecturas paralelas, a menudo fundamentadas en sólidos estereotipos. El documen¬to identifica algunas actitudes comunes que se ejecutan a través de los siglos del clasicismo: la suerte de los consejos de Sebastiano Serlio, la selección con grabadores ciertos modelos, técnicas de construcción se aplica a situaciones especìficas.

A una attenta analisi, la misteriosa facciata nota come prospetto della chiesa di Santa Eulalia dei Catalani a Palermo risulta essere il frammento superstite di una Loggia pubblica realizzata (e forse mai completata)a partire dalla fine degli anni trenta del Cinquecento. La comunità e i banchieri catalani presenti a Palermo sono certamente i promotori di una architettura all'antica che si avvia dopo il trionfale ingresso dell'imperatore Carlo V in città (1535). Lo studio di questo edificio e le ipotesi sulla spazialità interna risultano estremamente illuminanti per comprendere una fase architettonica ancora poco nota nella capitale del Regno di Sicilia.

Il saggio analizza la produzione architettonica, tra Quattro e Cinquecento, nell'ambito delle grandi isole del Mediterraneo centrale e occidentale, territori, come è noto, legati politicamente e commercialmente.La corona aragonese, nell'età di Alfonso il Magnanimo, aveva infatti permesso la formazione di una solida e organica civiltà artistica, prodotta anche della mobilità dei maestri.Obiettivo del contributo è ragionare sui risultati dell'ultima stagione del gotico che ha permeato questi luoghi e che ha opposto resistenza nei confronti della pressione del classicismo proveniente dal nord italia.

La Carestia of the Sicilian poet Domenico Tempio is an allegorical satirical poem that fits into the tradition of southern enlightened reformism, feeding the utopia of peace and social egalitarianism. The article analyzes some frame of the work to grasp the thrust for the renewal of eighteenth-century poetry, through a stylistic use of the poetic language that oscillates between coloriture markedly expressionist and equally visible traces of formal classicism.

This article analyses the impact of classical tradition on the artistic production of Gregorio Prieto (1897-1992), painter par excellence of the Generation of 1927. It will be discovered how this influence, far from becoming a conservative reference, would constitute an incentive for his entailment with the avant-garde, especially with surrealism. Although the classic trace is found with more intensity in the creations produced during his Roman years, between 1928 and 1929, when he also made important trips to Sicily and Greece, Greece and Rome would nevertheless continue to be constitutive of his aesthetic experience throughout his later and extensive career.
